The UV sensor FT 50 UV from SensoPart can consistently detect what remains hidden to the human eye
Slight contrast or colour differences between the printed mark and object or uneven (e.g. rough, grained or printed) object surfaces frequently cause problems for standard optical sensors. In these cases or when markings are not to be visible on a product, the evaluation of luminescent characteristics is a simple and reliable alternative. It is thus for example possible to check printed labels or patient information leaflets for medication, detect chalk markings on wooden surfaces, position bottles in the filling plant with the aid of invisible printed marks on the label or check the presence of oil on machine parts or glue application on paper.

The UV sensor "activates" the luminescent materials by emitting UV light. The luminescent materials thereupon send back light of a different frequency – mainly in a visible colour spectrum.

One sensor for the entire spectral range

SensoPart's FT 50 UV sensor with its RGB tristimulus reception system is able to analyse luminescence over the entire spectral range of visible light – the choice of the selected part spectrum (red, green, blue) is simply carried out by teach-in. The FT 50 UV thus stands out from other UV sensors available on the market, which require appropriate filters for this purpose. The high capacity sensor detects even minimal quantities of luminophore and is thus very reliable. Reflective surfaces or varying object distances, for example with fluttering objects such as paper or after a batch change-over, do not impair the reliable sensor functions in any way.

The FT 50 UV is equipped with a standard M 12 connector and a NC signal output. Due to its compact design and large operating range of 5 to 50 mm, it can be integrated into a wide range of different applications and easily detects even the smallest markings due to its precise, round light spot (3 mm diameter at 18 mm scanning range). The teach-in process on the FT 50 UV is carried out – as with other products in the SensoPart F50 series – easily and conveniently via a teach key on the sensor or via a control cable.

This UV sensor, which is very attractively priced compared with other competitive products of the same performance category, is now immediately available.
