Get to know Julian Baumgarten, our Application Engineering Manager at SensoPart US
Ever wondered what makes SensoPart a great place to work? Maybe our colleagues have the answers you've been seeking! We believe that a company's true strength lies in the people who drive its success, and we're dedicated to introducing you to the individuals behind SensoPart. We've asked our team three key questions about their daily work, motivations, and the unique work atmosphere at SensoPart.
Let's get to know Julian better as he answers these three questions:
How does your normal working day at SensoPart look like? There’s really no such thing as a “typical” workday in my position. Working in the Application Engineering team at SensoPart is just as diverse and dynamic as the field of automation itself. Generally speaking, my day is a mix of customer support, feasibility analysis, and customer visits – both to provide technical assistance and to support our sales team. When no customer visits are scheduled, my day usually starts by checking the support email inbox – which I continue to monitor throughout the day to ensure we provide fast, high-quality assistance to our customers. Sometimes, all it takes is sending over a datasheet. Other times, I’ll grab a robot or PLC from our lab to test and troubleshoot whatever issue the customer is facing. One of the parts I enjoy most about my job is finding solutions to our customers’ challenges. This might happen in a Teams meeting, but often customers send us sample parts so we can create a test setup in our lab and deliver a stable, reliable solution tailored to their process.Complete the sentence: I became Application Engineering Manager because……this role offers exciting insights and challenges in the vast world of future-oriented automation technology. Unlike a traditional mechanical engineer who usually specializes in building similar systems over and over again, at SensoPart I gain exposure to a wide variety of industries where automation is applied. When I moved from our German headquarters to our US subsidiary, I was given the opportunity not only to experience working permanently in a different culture, but also to help build up the local team and position it strongly for the future. What makes SensoPart special for you? Why do you enjoy working at SensoPart? To me, SensoPart is special because it’s a place where you’re taken seriously and where your input truly matters. My job isn’t always easy – it can be demanding – but that’s exactly what makes it interesting. What really makes the difference are the people: the team spirit is open, easygoing, and collaborative. Even when things get tricky, we usually find good solutions together.I value the combination of technical challenges, personal responsibility, and the trust I’m given. That’s what makes me feel at home here – and why I genuinely enjoy the work I do.
