Application example
In industries like plastics manufacturing, especially for large appliances, robots are challenged with gripping large components safely and accurately. To ensure precise handling, vision sensors are used to pinpoint the exact position of these components and relay the data to the robot.
Detecting the precise position of large components often requires two cameras. However, mounting multiple cameras on the robot gripper increases both cabling complexity and installation costs.
The VISOR® XE Robotic system accurately determines the position of large components and transfers this data to the robot’s controller. Its compact, durable design fits seamlessly into the gripper, simplifying integration.
With standardized calibration plates, the system easily converts image data into world coordinates. The VISOR® XE series also features an additional connector for multi-camera setups. Thanks to the extra LAN interface, cabling is minimized, drastically cutting down on installation time and cost. This solution enhances the reliable detection of large components while streamlining their integration into existing systems.
