The Power of 3
Whether it's challenging surfaces or long detection distances, each individual application seems to require a different specialist in everyday automation practice. But does the choice of a sensor really need to be so complex?
The "Power of 3" puts an end to the time-intensive search for the perfect individual sensor. Whether shiny metal parts, deep black packaging, or transparent PET bottles, with our many years of experience, we have bundled the essence of industrial object detection into three compact sensors that reliably carry out 99% of your tasks.
The three F 25 sensors of the DTECT® Presence series operate in the same identical housing and feature an IO-Link interface and robust protection ratings of IP69 and IP69K. This gives you a sensor trio for nearly every automation task, ensuring maximum technical coverage with minimal system complexity.

In many projects, the actual challenge begins not with the integration of sensor technology, but already with the selection of sensors. Different detection principles, housing designs, ranges, and special solutions quickly lead to a confusing variety of sensor options. Engineering, purchasing, and service must take different sensor types into account, warehousing requirements increase, and subsequent adaptations become costly.
This is precisely where our "Power of 3" comes in. Instead of countless variants, this solution focuses on three optical technologies:
All three technologies are intentionally implemented on an identical mechanical platform. This means you do not just get three separate sensors, but a well-designed system that reliably covers both standard applications and demanding special cases with a working range of 0 to 2,000 mm. For maximum ease of use, all sensors can be mounted in the same enclosure. Commissioning also follows a uniform and simple teach-in process, once completed, the principle is understood identically across all sensors.
Experience the "Power of 3" live: Our expert Benjamin Adam will show you in just three minutes how easily commissioning and teach-in work for F 25 sensors.
Technology: Photoelectric diffuse sensor with background suppression and BlueLight
FT 25-BH was developed specifically for applications in which conventional optical sensors reach their limits. Its BlueLight technology ensures exceptionally stable switching behavior even with highly light-absorbing, deep black, or highly glossy objects.
Thanks to integrated ASIC signal processing, the sensor operates reliably even against reflective machinery backgrounds. Detection also remains stable when mounting angles change or different object variants are processed.
With a working range of 0 to 200 mm and a switching frequency of 700 Hz, this sensor is particularly suitable for fast, precise tasks at close range.
Typical areas of application for the FT 25-BH include:
The robust glass-fiber reinforced plastic housing with metal inserts and protection classes up to IP69K enable use in the harshest environments.
Your advantage: Even “problem objects” can be handled with minimal effort.
Technology: High-power photoelectric diffuse sensor with background suppression and time-of-flight
The FT 25-RLHP combines a compact design with powerful distance detection. Using time-of-flight, the sensor measures the light travel time of the laser beam, enabling reliable detection of objects up to 1,500 mm away.
This measurement method ensures particularly surface-independent detection. Whether metal, plastic, or colored materials, the sensor delivers stable results with minimal hysteresis and precisely adjustable background suppression.
The visible laser dot makes alignment much easier and reduces the time required for commissioning. At the same time, laser class 1 allows safe operation without additional protective measures.
Typical areas of application for the FT 25-RLHP include:
Your advantage: Long ranges with precision and ease of use, without compromise.
Technology: photoelectric retro-reflective sensor with autocollimation
The FR 25-RGO was developed specifically to ensure reliable detection of transparent materials, such as glass, PET, or transparent films, which are difficult for many optical sensors to detect.
Thanks to the autocollimation principle, the sensor detects objects from a distance of 0 mm, with no blind zone. This significantly simplifies integration in compact machines. In addition, the integrated DELTA function ensures dynamic adjustment of the switching threshold. This keeps detection stable even in the presence of dust, dirt, or slight optical variations. Long maintenance times are a thing of the past.
Typical areas of application for the FR 25-RGO include:
Your advantage: Transparent objects are detected reliably – with no elaborate special adjustments
Whether you need help with a specific application, project planning, or a feasibility review, our application specialists will help you select the optimal sensor from our "Power of 3" range and integrate it correctly.

The strength of the "Power of 3" solution becomes evident not only in terms of excellent sensor performance, but also through the advantages it delivers to your overall system: Since all three sensors have the same compact dimensions of 34 × 20 × 12 mm, a single mechanical design is sufficient for all applications. Engineering teams only need to plan for one sensor mount, service personnel only need to know one mounting position, and replacement sensors can be exchanged easily with no mechanical adjustments.
You also benefit from standardization in direct handling, as all sensors support teach-in via button, control input, or IO-Link, ensuring that commissioning and parameter configuration are carried out in a uniform manner.
This results in economic advantages during operation:
