Base Shift Explained: From Position Correction to Workpiece Alignment
In this demo, we show how different correction methods support robot guidance when a workpiece changes position or rotates.
First, delta values are used for a simple position change, where the detected point is also the robot target. Then, offset calculation is used for a shifted gripping point, where the robot target is calculated relative to the detected workpiece position. Finally, Base Shift shows how robot coordinates can stay aligned with the workpiece, making it possible to follow a complete path even after RZ rotation.
Base Shift moves the robot reference to the detected workpiece pose, allowing positions, orientations and paths to remain aligned with the part.
